ANDREW A. SCHATTE (w∴m∴ 1984-1985)

Andrew Americus Schatte was born on July 7, 1948. He graduated from Texas A & M University in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. After graduation, he served in the United States Air Force as a commissioned officer, and was discharged in 1975 with the rank of Captain. He is currently a co-owner of BSL Golf Corporation.

He is married, and has three children.

Brother Schatte was not a member of the Order of DeMolay, but as an adult he was active as a member of the Advisory Board of Reagan Chapter. For his service to the Chapter, he was invested as an honorary member of the Legion of Honor in 1983.

Brother Schatte received the degrees in Freemasonry from Jacques DeMolay Lodge No. 1390. He was initiated as an Entered Apprentice Mason on January 17, 1980; passed to the degree of Fellowcraft on February 21, 1980; and raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason on March 20, 1980. From 1984-1985, he served as the lodge’s twenty-fifth Worshipful Master.

Brother Schatte is a member of the both the Grotto and the Shrine.

Brother Schatte is a member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, having received the degrees from the Houston bodies in May 1980. For his service and devotion to the Rite, he was invested with the rank and decoration of a Knight Commander of the Court of Honour in 1985.
