Joseph Anthoney Taylor was born on January 10, 1968 in Bartow, Florida. He was educated in the public school system of the city, graduating from Haines City Sr. High School in 1986. He continued his education at Florida A & M University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems. He further continued his education at Clemson University, from which he graduated in 1996 with a Master of Business Administration. He became a Certified Project Management Professional, PMP, in July 2000.

He is the Director of the North America Professional Services Group at Spotfire, a division of TIBCO Software. He is a member of Who’s Who of International Business.

He is married, and has two children, a son and a daughter.

Brother Taylor received his degrees in Freemasonry from Jacques DeMolay Lodge No. 1390 in Houston, Texas. He was initiated as an Entered Apprentice Mason on February 7, 2002; passed to the degree of Fellowcraft on March 16, 2002; and raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason on March 30, 2002. In November 2003, he received his Esoteric “A” Certificate from the Grand Lodge of Texas. In the Masonic year of 2006-2007, he served as the forty-sixth Worshipful Master of the Lodge.

Brother Taylor is a member of the Chapter, Council, and Commandery of the York Rite, as well as the Grotto and the Shrine. He is a drummer in both the Oriental Band and the Drum and Bugle Corp of Arabia Temple.

Brother Taylor is a member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, having received his degrees from the Houston bodies in July 2002. He is currently serving as Junior Warden for the San Jacinto Lodge of Perfection. For his service and devotion to the Rite, he was invested with the rank and decoration of a Knight Commander of the Court of Honor in 2007.
