LAWRENCE L. PECHT (w∴m∴ 1975-1976)

Lawrence Lambert Pecht was born on February 3, 1929 in Jerrell, Texas, in Glasscock Valley, and attended the public school system of that city. After graduating from high school, he went to Texas A & M University where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1957. He worked for Westinghouse, Nunn Electric, and Westco, before retiring in February 1996.

He is married, and has three children.

Brother Pecht received the degrees in Freemasonry from Jacques DeMolay Lodge No. 1390. He was initiated as an Entered Apprentice Mason on April 20, 1971; passed to the degree of Fellowcraft on August 17, 1971; and raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason on September 21, 1971. He served the lodge as its sixteenth Worshipful Master from 1975-1976. In 1977, he was elected Treasurer of the Lodge, a position he has held ever since. For his many and continuing services to the lodge, he was awarded the Golden Trowel in 1992.

Brother Pecht is a member of the Arabia Temple Shrine, and a member of the Shrine’s Drum and Bugle unit. He served as President of that unit in 1982, and was President of the Texas Shrine Drum Corps Association in 1991.

Brother Pecht is a member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, having received the degrees from the Houston bodies in October and November 1971.
